Things will be getting hairy around RGBSI during the month of November as the RGBSI team participates in Movember.
The term "Movember," a portmanteau of the words "mustache" and "November," is an annual month-long event that seeks to raise awareness and money for men's health issues. Started by four Australian men in 1999, the event has grown into an international phenomenon with both men and women around the world coming together to make a difference in men's health.
Participants agree to grow a mustache, one of the major symbols of masculinity, during the month of November. Though the very premise may seem silly, the event has sparked important conversations about the growing issue of men's health, including prostate cancer, mental health, and other men's health problems.
The RGBSI team is partaking in the efforts to raise awareness and funds for men's health. Employees are committing to grow mustaches or donate to the effort through the official Movember organization. Donations will go towards funding men's health programs, including raising awareness about men's health issue through campaigns, and men's health research.
