RGBSI has partnered with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) through a multi-faceted Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to create an Industry Institute Partnership and Center of Excellence in Quality Lifecycle Management at the college. The MoU was signed and announced at an event at the VTU Regional Office in Bangalore on August 8, 2014.
Through the agreement, RGBSI will bring the practice of manufacturing quality lifecycle management (QLM) into the classroom through skill development and training from RGBSI certified industry faculty and RGBSI's software Empower QLM. RGBSI will also aim to create Centers of Excellence in Entrepreneurship in order to give university students the training and support they need to become entrepreneurs and bring innovative products and services to the world.
Dr. Nanua Singh, President and CEO of RGBSI, spoke to leaders of more than 200 engineering colleges at the event, stating, "It's time that India starts to compete with China in terms of developing manufacturing quality skills. Although there are millions of industries across the country yet India's contribution to the global production is a meagre 2-3 percent compared to China's share of more than 14 percent. Recently, the Indian government has been putting a lot of efforts to improve India's image as a manufacturing destination at a global level and establishing the country as a viable export house."
H. Maheshappa, Vice-Chancellor of VTU, said, "As the demand for skilled resources is rapidly growing, engineering colleges need to keep pace with the industry to create employment opportunities for students from the beginning itself. To achieve this, such collaborations between companies with academic institutions can go a long way in imparting the much needed skills and bringing practical industry experience to the classroom."
RGBSI offers a range of engineering, human resources, and IT services. The company celebrated 17 years in business in March and has widely been known for superior value in its engineering and recruitment services. The company also offers quality lifecycle management services and software. The company has been ranked this year on Crain’s Private 200 List, Crain’s Largest Information Technology Companies List, and Crain’s Largest Engineering Companies List.
