On September 27, 2024, Ravi Kumar, President & CIO of RGBSI, participated in the 50th anniversary edition of the BMW Berlin Marathon. Having first run the race in 2012, this time the marathon was not only about personal achievement but also about supporting two inspiring charities: Free to Run and StrideRise.
Ravi ran on behalf of Free to Run, a nonprofit organization focused on empowering women and girls from conflict-affected regions through sports. One of the standout stories from this year’s event was that of Hanifa, a young woman from Afghanistan, who also ran the marathon. Her journey, featured by Free to Run, represents the power of resilience and how sports can help women break through barriers.

In addition to Free to Run, Ravi represented StrideRise, a charity dedicated to empowering girls through the transformative power of fitness and running. Beyond being a fitness initiative, StrideRise is a movement that helps girls reach their full potential, gain confidence, and achieve lifelong health. As shown through the reassuring efforts for these two organizations, Ravi upholds RGBSI’s commitment to resilience, community, and empowerment.
As a company, RGBSI proudly donated a majority of the funds raised for Free to Run, while other donors contributed. This collective effort highlights our commitment to giving back, supporting causes that align with our values of community impact and making a difference where it matters most.
Ravi’s marathon journey is a reminder that individual efforts, when combined with corporate support, can create lasting change. We celebrate not only his personal achievement in completing the race but also his commitment to making an impact through fundraising efforts that benefit Free to Run and StrideRise.

At RGBSI, we continue to champion causes that embody our values of innovation, leadership, and community. Ravi Kumar’s successful completion of the Berlin Marathon, alongside the funds raised for charity, is a powerful example of how we can all make a difference— both in and out of the office. As we look ahead, we’re excited to continue supporting meaningful causes, building stronger communities, and leading by example.
