Vice President of Global Operations Ravi Kumar ran the 2013 Boston Marathon as part of the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge Team. Made up of over 550 team members, the team raising almost $4.6 million to help beat cancer.
The Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge (DFMC) seeks to raise awareness and money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. One hundred percent of the funds raised by DFMC team members support the Barr Program, a program that works to develop early-career scientists who work on a broad range of research to uncover new breakthroughs about cancer. To date, DFMC has raised more than $61 million, and nearly 200 innovative scientific investigations have received critical funding.
The 2013 DFMC team's efforts were recognized in the foundation's Summer 2013 newsletter, Impact.
