Vice President of Global Operations Ravi Kumar ran the 2013 Boston Marathon as part of the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge Team. Made up of over 550 team members, the team raising almost $4.6 million to help beat cancer. The **[Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge](http://www.kintera.org/htmlcontent.asp?cid=116910&__utma=44309159.2132789311.1380235730.1380235730.1380235730.1&__utmb=44309159.2.10.1380235730&__utmc=44309159&__utmx=-&__utmz=44309159.1380235730.1.1.utmcsr=google|utmccn=(organic)|utmcmd=organic|utmctr=(not%20provided)&__utmv=-&__utmk=112660609)** (DFMC) seeks to raise awareness and money for the **[Dana-Farber Cancer Institute](http://www.dana-farber.org)**. One hundred percent of the funds raised by DFMC team members support the **[Barr Program](http://www.rundfmc.org/faf/home/ccp.asp?ievent=1078599&ccp=116364#Barr)**, a program that works to develop early-career scientists who work on a broad range of research to uncover new breakthroughs about cancer. To date, DFMC has raised more than $61 million, and nearly 200 innovative scientific investigations have received critical funding.
