Troy, Michigan--Today Rapid Global Business Solutions, Inc. (RGBSI) announced that Ravi Kumar has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer. Part of the company since its inception in 1997, Kumar began as a part-time employee and joined full-time in 2003 as Manager of IT. He was promoted to Director of IT and Infrastructure in 2005 before serving as Vice President of Global Operations beginning in 2009.
As Chief Operating Officer, Kumar will be focused on the global business growth of RGBSI and its group of companies via expansion in new areas and acquisitions. He will work to ensure world class customer service and operations across all of its subsidiaries and divisions.
For the past six years, Kumar has managed the global operations of offices in USA, Canada, Germany, India, China, Singapore, Mexico and the UK. Since his promotion to Vice President of Global Operations, RGBSI has been recognized both nationally and locally by a number of organizations, winning over fifty awards in the last five years, including ranking on the Inc. Magazine 500|5000 list five times in the last six years and the Crain's Detroit Business Fast 50 Companies.
Kumar has been instrumental in implementing a strong vision for RGBSI, including technological advancements, innovation, risk taking and bringing new products to market. The company has recently expanded into a brand new 25,000 square foot facility in Troy under his leadership.
Before joining RGBSI, Kumar graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor's in electrical and computer engineering. He went on to earn his Master's of Business Administration from Michigan State University.
Outside of his work as Chief Operation Officer, Kumar enjoys running marathons (he has run the 5 major world marathons to raise money for various charities) and spending time with his wife and 3 children.
