The RGBSI team is proud to host a fundraiser for hunger in support of Open Hands Food Pantry. The organization has been providing food and toiletries to Oakland County since 1982. The pantry serves 14,000 people on an annual basis and distributes food twice a week to residents.
Though many of us may not recognize the disparities within our own community, the truth of the matter is that hunger is an actual thing in Oakland County. In fact, 153,310 people were food insecure in 2018, which is 13% of Oakland County. With economic shifts causing financial constraints, many find themselves with a lack of resources to access food.
Open Hands Food Pantry helps provide relief to those in need of emergency food and toiletries. Our team is happy to support this cause by hosting an employee fundraiser. All fundraiser proceeds will go towards purchasing food cans for Open Hands. The RGBSI leadership team is matching all employee donations to double contributions.
